Breakthrough in Import Substitution: Moscow Launches Production of Power Modules for Electric Transport and Servers

The launch of serial production of power modules and power supply units in Moscow represents a strategically significant event for Russia's technological infrastructure. The company "Element-Technologies" is addressing the critical challenge of ensuring energy independence in two key sectors: electric transport and server infrastructure.
Power modules are highly reliable components that convert and manage electrical energy. Domestic production eliminates dependence on imported supplies, which previously created risks of supply disruptions and price increases. For electric transport, this means the ability to localize the production of power electronics for electric buses, electric cars, and tram systems. For server infrastructure, it ensures uninterrupted power supply for data centers and telecommunications equipment.
The launch of production in 2026 demonstrates the maturity of technological competencies of Russian industry. The company "Element" already had experience in the field of power electronics, but the transition to serial production in Moscow indicates scaling of capabilities. This is important for implementing state programs for the development of electric transport and digitalization of the economy.
Economic consequences of the production launch include reducing the cost of final products by eliminating import markup, accelerating the supply cycle, and improving the reliability of supply chains. Technologically, this opens up opportunities for further localization of related components and the development of own R&D programs in the field of power electronics.
