Who it is for

Manufacturing plants with a CNC machine fleet that want to digitize downtime and see real equipment utilization.

Hidden downtime and production losses

Many SMB manufacturers lose a significant part of working time due to downtime that is neither recorded nor analyzed.

  • Manufacturing companies lose a noticeable share of each shift due to uncontrolled equipment downtime.
  • With a shortage of skilled operators, every hour of idle equipment is too expensive.

Who benefits most from Industrial Insight

SMB manufacturers with 5 to 50 CNC machines.

Laser cutting, turning and milling, casting and other serial production processes.

How the system works

  • Non-invasive load monitoring via SCT‑013 current transformers without interfering with machine electronics.
  • Real-time equipment status: running, idle, powered off – shown as a clear traffic light dashboard.
  • Operator enters downtime reasons on a tablet directly at the machine.
  • Shift reports with Gantt charts and pie charts by downtime reasons.
  • Role-based access for administrator, supervisor and operator.

Technical architecture

Edge hardware module

ESP32‑WROOM‑32U based module with Wi‑Fi data transfer via MQTT broker, SCT‑013‑000 current sensor, DIN‑rail power supply and industrial enclosure with tamper sensor.

Server and software

Deployed on-premises (Docker) or in the cloud (VPS) with time-series storage in ClickHouse.

Data visualization via Grafana or a PWA interface with TLS encryption and role-based access control.

Industrial Insight in action

Screens from monitoring dashboards, reports and machine cards for shop-floor supervisors and managers.

Industrial Insight advantages

Practical benefits compared to heavy MES and classical integrator projects.

Machine warranty remains intact

Connection is made via a current sensor only; no interference with CNC or electronics, so OEM warranty terms are not affected.

Fast start

Hardware installation and system startup take minimal time and can be performed by in‑house staff following clear instructions.

No excessive integrator travel

No need to pay for expensive on‑site integrator teams: the architecture is intentionally simple and friendly to your own IT and engineering teams.

Focus on downtime, not on a ‘big system’

The system is designed to solve one concrete task – downtime monitoring and analysis – rather than to replace a full‑scale MES.
